About

The purpose of the Oxford Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers is to bring together those interested in textiles and in textile making by providing a forum for meeting others who are interested in the subject and providing opportunities to widen their knowledge and skills as well as offering a chance to exhibit their work in public.

We meet monthly on the 3rd Saturday of the month, except in August, at the Village Hall, Stanton St John, Oxfordshire where parking is easy and visitors are most welcome.  In December 2018 we will be moving to Beckley Village Hall for our regular meetings and from October 2018 our workshop days will take place in Forest Hill Village Hall.  Meetings are normally for a full day 10.00am – 4.00pm (bring a packed lunch), either enjoy a “Have-a-go” Day or listen to one of our Speaker’s Talks.

Whether you’ve been spinning and weaving for years or it suddenly takes your fancy to learn we are always delighted to welcome new members. We all love working with fibres and textiles, and thoroughly enjoy sharing our interest – and learning something new.

We welcome visitors, making no charge for their first visit, and a charge of £5.00 for the next two visits, after that we request that they join the guild.  Guild membership is £30 for 2019, rising to £35 a year in 2020.
